In Pratibha Pratisthan v Manager, Canara Bank, the Supreme Court recently held that a trust cannot file a complaint under the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986. Upholding the order passed by National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, the Supreme Court held the complaint filed by a trust to be “not maintainable”.
