AllBright now has access to 28 offices in 19 countries in Europe, the Middle East and the rest of Asia-Pacific, in addition to its domestic quota of 18 offices in mainland China and Hong Kong, with about 1,800 lawyers in total.

Yang Jiangang, a senior partner of AllBright in Shenzhen, told Asia Business Law Journal that through the strategic partnership AllBright could now provide clients with one-stop legal services for their overseas and global business activities and cross-border investment. The partnership also had great potential for serving the development of China’s Belt and Road initiative, he added. David Kerr, CEO of Bird & Bird, said of the alliance: “There is a strong synergy between our vision – to be the number one law firm in the world for organizations being changed by technology and the digital world – and the ambitions of the many high-growth Chinese companies looking to expand internationally.”

Yang said that his firm’s first priority now was to “first set up an office in London that will not provide local legal services in its early stage. The office’s main function is to co-ordinate and manage general matters concerning strategic co-operation between the two firms, including establishing common customer service standards, pricing standards for joint bidding, business referral and tracking, joint market promotion and brand building, internal staff training and exchange, so that we can enhance the synergetic ability of both parties and jointly provide high-quality legal services to clients.”
