AllBright Law Offices and Bird & Bird’s recently announced co-operation agreement allows the Chinese firm access to an international network in line with its expansion ambitions, said a senior partner at the firm.
AllBright now has access to 28 offices in 19 countries in Europe, the Middle East and the rest of Asia-Pacific, in addition to its domestic quota of 18 offices in mainland China and Hong Kong, with about 1,800 lawyers in total.
Yang Jiangang, a senior partner of AllBright in Shenzhen, told Asia Business Law Journal that through the strategic partnership AllBright could now provide clients with one-stop legal services for their overseas and global business activities and cross-border investment. The partnership also had great potential for serving the development of China’s Belt and Road initiative, he added. David Kerr, CEO of Bird & Bird, said of the alliance: “There is a strong synergy between our vision – to be the number one law firm in the world for organizations being changed by technology and the digital world – and the ambitions of the many high-growth Chinese companies looking to expand internationally.”
