The Law Society of Hong Kong has applauded Hong Kong chief executive Carrie Lam’s appointment of honourable justice Andrew Cheung as Hong Kong’s next chief justice, as the incumbent Geoffrey Ma prepares to step down early next year.
Cheung, who is currently a permanent judge of the Court of Final Appeal, will become chief justice on 11 January 2021, when Ma retires.
