Introduction

Sung Keuk has been practising law since 1991 and is managing partner of his firm. His main practice areas are insurance (with a special focus on marine insurance, property insurance, liability insurance and reinsurance), shipping, and international trade.

Sung Keuk has acted for Korean insurance companies, foreign insurance companies in Korea and abroad, and advised clients with regard to insurance coverage issues, and disputes (including litigation, arbitration and mediation) related to insurance coverage and subrogated cargo claim. He has conducted cases before all tiers of Korean courts including the Korean Supreme Court and worked together with foreign lawyers in relation to proceedings in foreign jurisdictions.

Sung Keuk has also been appointed as a conciliator I have also been appointed as a conciliator in Seoul High Court for about 10 years and was elected as the chairman of The Korea Maritime Law Association in 2018. He believes the role of a lawyer is providing wise and good services to clients and named his law office “智賢” (which means wise and good).
