The Australian in-house community will converge on Brisbane for the 2018 ACC Australia National Conference from 14-16 November 2018. The conference will be held at Brisbane’s Convention and Exhibition Centre.
“The past few years have brought an unprecedented wave of change to the in-house profession,” says ACC Australia’s executive director, Ingrid Segota. “There is an ever-changing business and legal landscape and today, more than ever, we have to think beyond tomorrow to stay competitive and shape our profession’s future.
“ACC Australia recognizes that in-house counsel are responsible for the intersection of law and business, and, as such, the 2018 National Conference centres around the theme ‘more than a lawyer’.”
More than 300 in-house lawyers from about 200 Australian organizations will hear from over 20 expert speakers including:
- Professor Richard Susskind – author of Tomorrow’s Lawyers;
- Former chair of the Australian Human Rights Commission, emeritus professor Gillian Triggs; and
- Former Australian foreign affairs minister Alexander Downer.
A highlight of the event will be the ACC Australia In-house Lawyer Awards. Recognized as Australia’s most prestigious in-house counsel awards programme, the award categories are independently judged by a committee of in-house leaders and include ‘Corporate Lawyer of the Year’, ‘Government Lawyer of the Year’, ‘Legal Team of the Year’ (small/large), ‘Young Lawyer Achiever of the Year’, ‘Australian Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility’ and ‘Mentor/Mentee of the Year’.
The ACC Australia National Conference represents Australia’s largest gathering of in-house counsel.
