Clifford Chance was especially active in the past month, playing primary roles in a number of major deals involving Chinese enterprises.
Apart from the Haitong Securities Company IPO (see News, page 5), the firm advised China Resources Gas Group (CR Gas) on its establishment of a US$1.5 billion global medium-term note (GMTN) programme and the initial Rule 144A/Regulation S issuance under the programme of US$750 million notes due in 2022 with an interest rate of 4.5% per annum.
CR Gas is part of the state-owned China Resources Group.
On the mergers and acquisitions side, Clifford Chance advised Temasek Holdings (Private) on its US$2.3 billion acquisition of the H-shares of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), held by The Goldman Sachs Group.
