Introduction

Shu Zhitang is one of the founders of Merits & Tree Law Offices and currently a member of M&T’s management committee. Prior to M&T’s establishment, Shu was a partner at Commerce & Finance Law Offices. Shu has extensive experience in the securities capital market, where he specialises in upstream and downstream businesses with IPO as the core link for more than a decade. His clients include issuers and sponsors. As a lead partner or project leader, Shu has led or participated in almost all types of businesses related to securities, funds and corporates, including IPOs and listings on the main board, SME board, and GEM of the A-share market, NEEQ listing, refinancing of listed companies, major asset restructuring of listed companies, backdoor listings, mergers and acquisitions, supervision and compliance of listed companies, pre-IPO investments and financings, etc. During his legal services to numerous listed companies and those applying for listing, Shu has been well recognized by clients for his seriousness, dedication and his professional services of high quality and top efficiency and has established a good and pleasant cooperative relationship with various agencies. Shu has provided legal services to IPOs of companies like HLSJ (603138), ZGKC (601858), HCZX (603909), XJHY (002700), HCDZ (603002), CJRF (002435), etc. He has also advised BCNY (600681) on a backdoor listing. Shu is qualified as a Chinese lawyer and is also qualified to serve as an independent director of listed companies. He serves as an independent director of several companies and an internal review committee of the investment banking department of a securities company. Shu obtained a master’s degree in law from Renmin University of China and is currently studying at the EMBA programme of Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business. Shu’s working languages are Chinese and English.
