Court clarifies who is liable for contract employee

Dismissing a writ petition in Shailesh Kumar Pandey v Research and Assessment Centre and Ors, Delhi High Court held that to establish a direct relationship between a contract employee and a principal employer, it is necessary to show that there is a direct payment of wages to the contract employee by the principal employer, direct penal action by the principal employer in case of misconduct, and direct control and supervision of the contract employee by the principal employer.
