Vivek Mittal joined Danaher Corporation, a global science and technology company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, as its regional counsel for the Middle East, Turkey, Africa and India – diagnostics platform, on 22 September. He is based in the Mumbai office of the company.
Mittal, who spent the past eight years at Lupin and was until recently the head of legal for India, told India Business Law Journal that he was looking forward to “the experience of working with a multinational company in a regional role”.
In his new position, which he said was a slightly expanded and elevated role to that held by his predecessor, who was based in Switzerland, Mittal will be responsible for providing “leadership, guidance, direction and assistance in connection with various legal, regulatory, compliance and business matters” for Danaher’s diagnostics business.
The diagnostics business has four companies under its umbrella: Beckman Coulter, Cepheid, Leica Biosystems, and Radiometer Medical. Mittal will be reporting to the diagnostics general counsel, Curtis Brueske, who is based in the US.
