EY, LC firms expand, modify brands

EY Chen & Co. Law Firm recently changed its English name to EY Law Firm, while its associated firm in Hong Kong, Lin & Associates, has also changed its name to LC Lawyers.

According to EY, the name change is part of the rebranding process as their legal practice expands across Greater China.

The law firms have also recruited three new partners. Ding Chengfei, a former partner at Troutman Sanders, joined the EY Law Firm in Shanghai, while Rossana Chu and Lynia Liu, also from Troutman, joined LC Lawyers.

Ding advises clients on US and Hong Kong capital markets transactions and regulatory issues, mergers and acquisitions, and venture capital/private equity matters. Ding also advises on going private transactions in respect of US-listed companies, and represents Chinese clients in making outbound investments, as well as foreign clients’ inbound investment.

Rossana Chu is experienced in M&A, capital market transactions, corporate finance and regulatory compliance. She advises clients on M&A, IPOs, post-IPO fundraising and corporate restructurings. She also advises on private equity/venture capital investments with Chinese mainland and Hong Kong elements, as well as on compliance matters in relation to Hong Kong-listed companies.

Before working in private practice, Lynia Lau was with BP Amoco and Sinopec as a senior commercial director. She has years of industrial experience in M&A transactions, project development, project finance and government regulatory matters. Apart from energy and infrastructure, Lau provides legal services on outbound investment, capital financing, financial regulation, and outbound M&A to Chinese companies.
