FoxMandal Little has hired British former high court judge Sir Gavin Lightman as a consultant to offer advice on arbitration and insolvency issues and help train lawyers in India.
Lightman was a judge at the High Court of England and Wales, Chancery Division, from 1994 until his retirement in January this year. He was called to the Bar in 1964 and joined the High Court after 30 years of practice. He is treasurer of Lincoln’s Inn and has joined Serle Court chambers as a mediator and arbitrator.
The appointment comes shortly after FoxMandal Little became one of the first Indian law firms to open a London office.
