Global law firm Holman Fenwick Willan (HFW) expanded its transactional practice with the recruitment of Wing Cheung as their latest senior corporate finance partner, along with his nine-lawyer corporate finance team.
Cheung is focused on capital markets, including initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and other transactional work. He joins HFW’s Hong Kong office from US law firm Locke Lord, where he was Hong Kong managing partner.
With significant experience in regulatory enforcement and compliance, Cheung has acted on major investigations and other proceedings by the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission.
He brings a nine-lawyer corporate finance team from Locke Lord with him, including corporate finance and capital markets specialist partner Matthew Wong. The team also includes counsel King Hui and Roger Wong, and senior associate Carmen Liang.
HFW has been growing its global corporate and finance practices with the launch of its transactional practice in China earlier year and the addition of 19 transactional partners across its international network since 2018, including lateral hires in Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong, Houston, London, Monaco, Paris and Singapore.
