More than 300 members of Australia’s in-house legal community will gather in Australia’s red heart and geographical centre at Alice Springs in mid-November for the ACC Australia National Conference.

To be held over three days in what is a uniquely Australian setting, the conference will highlight the themes of community engagement, thought leadership, innovation and resilience.

A variety of expert speakers will include: Richard Dammery, chief legal officer & company secretary, Woolworths; Craig Katerberg, vice president, legal and corporate affairs, AB InBev, Carlton and United Breweries; and Julie Ryan, general counsel, Accolade Wines.

A further highlight of the event will be an address from Stan Grant, special adviser to the prime minister on indigenous constitutional recognition, entitled “Indigenous Affairs: what needs to change”.

The 2017 event will also include the annual In-House Lawyer Awards dinner, where winners of the 2017 awards will be announced, as well as the launch of the ACC Australia CLO club.

This initiative has been developed for chief legal officers of small and large legal departments and will feature a series of facilitated roundtable discussions and networking opportunities designed to allow participants to gain new insights and ideas to take back to their respective organizations.
