The sordid tale of gender-based discrimination and assault on women in Indian society unfortunately continues today despite a myriad of laws offering protection to women. Regrettably, India ranks among the world’s worst countries when it comes to sexual assault on women.

Crimes against women at workplaces in recent months, which have occurred in organizations that claim to champion the rights and protection of women, expose a crisis that stares at Indian society and also underscores the need for tighter laws.
