CAM to lose partner

The head of Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas’ investigations practice and partner, Kunal Gupta, will be joining Trilegal later in the year. Gupta will work as a partner in Trilegal’s white-collar crime investigations practice in New Delhi.

Gupta specializes in handling complex investigations involving corporate fraud and regulatory issues pertaining to the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, UK Bribery Act and Indian Prevention of Corruption Act, among other legislation. He has worked with several global regulators such as the US Securities and Exchange Commission and Department of Justice, Asian Development Bank, the UK’s Serious Fraud Office and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in conducting large global investigations.

In the past, Gupta worked at Grant Thornton, PwC, World Bank and L&L Partners.

S&R promotes 2 partners

S&R Associates has promoted Shivaji Bhattacharya and Prachi Goel as partners. Bhattacharya joined the firm in 2010 and works in the New Delhi office. His practice covers M&A, joint ventures, foreign investment, regulatory and general corporate matters. Prior to joining the firm, Bhattacharya previously worked with Coal India.

Goel joined the firm in 2017 and works in the Mumbai office. Her practice covers M&A, private equity, restructuring, regulatory and general corporate matters, and she has significant experience in the financial services sector.

New CEO at IndusLaw

The CEO of Link Legal India Law Services, N R Jayanarayanan, has joined IndusLaw, also as chief executive officer. Jayanarayanan has 17 years of experience and joined Link Legal in 2016.

“Jay brings a lot of management experience to the table, especially in the law firm space, and we look forward to having him on board,” said Suneeth Katarki, a senior partner at IndusLaw.

Jayanarayanan has worked with MNCs such as GE, Syntel, Tech Mahindra and Deutsche Bank. Prior to this, he was part of the senior management team at Amarchand Mangaldas, and later at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas.

IndusLaw has 42 partners and over 150 associates across four offices in Bengaluru, New Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai.

Platinum hires M&A partner

Platinum Partners has hired Rohan Kumar as a partner in its Mumbai office. Kumar joins from Poovayya & Co, where he was a partner in the firm’s Bengaluru office.

His practice includes M&A, antitrust, private equity and venture capital, and structured finance. He has more than 10 years of experience and has advised multinationals, domestic conglomerates and family offices on transactions across a range of sectors including media, technology, manufacturing, healthcare and hospitality.

Atlas Law promotes 4

New Delhi-based Atlas Law Partners has promoted Medha Srivastava to partner. Srivastava has 12 years of experience and her practice includes banking and finance, general corporate and M&A. She joined the firm in 2017 as an associate partner.

The firm also promoted senior associates Varun Vaish and Akshit Kapoor to managing associates. Vaish specializes in real estate, private equity, M&A, and banking and finance, while Kapoor specializes in general corporate, banking and finance, and private clients. Associate Astha Nigam was promoted to senior associate. Nigam is part of the dispute resolution team and specializes in commercial litigation and insolvency and bankruptcy laws.
