DSK Legal gains tax partner

DSK Legal has hired Nand Kumar as a partner to work in the firm’s litigation and tax practices in Mumbai. Kumar joins from HSA Advocates and brings along a team of six associates.

Kumar has experience in the areas of direct and indirect tax, while his experience in dispute resolution includes employment law, arbitration, and white-collar crime cases. He has advised on tax-related issues in sectors such as manufacturing, infrastructure, power, oil and gas, chemicals and pharmaceuticals.

Kumar began his career with L&L Partners when it was known as Luthra &
Luthra Law Offices and went onto work with Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan and BMR Advisors.

New partners at indusLaw

IndusLaw has inducted Rahul Goel and Anu Monga as partners in its competition, trade and technology, media & telecommunication (TMT) practice in the New Delhi office. Both of them join from Cyril Amarchand Mangladas. Goel focuses on competition and TMT law, while Monga focuses on competition, international trade and TMT law.

“Rahul and Anu will significantly enhance our competition law and TMT practices. They also bring the valuable dimension of international trade law to our firm,” said Avimukt Dar, a senior partner at IndusLaw.

JSA partner joins Samvad

Samvad Partners has hired Srabonee Roy as a partner in its Mumbai office. She joins from J Sagar Associates, where she also worked as a partner. Roy has experience in cross-border investments and acquisitions, joint ventures, business transfers, franchising agreements.

“She will further strengthen our team having worked for a wide range of clients both on the domestic and international fronts,” said Samvad partner Vineetha MG. Roy has represented clients in industries such as pharmaceuticals, manufacturing and retail.

CAM to upskill legal counsel

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) has launched the CAM Gurukul Institute of Learning to conduct training programmes for legal counsel and business managers in New Delhi and Mumbai.

CAM Gurukul programmes will consist of online talks, face-to-face seminars and interactive workshops. The learning programmes have been adjusted according to sector and experience level. Paathshala is aimed at junior in-house lawyers, and clients, Vidyapeeth is aimed at mid-level lawyers and business professionals and Vichar-Sammelan is targeted at senior representatives of clients.

The CAM Gurukul programme is being coordinated by Vaibhav Ganjiwale, the head of learning and development at CAM.

Partner hire at Anup S Shah

Anup S Shah Law Firm has hired Sanjay Nair as an associate partner in its litigation practice. Nair was a central government standing counsel in the High Court of Karnataka in Bengaluru for four years until April 2019. He previously worked in the chamber of senior counsel Udaya Holla for four years until 2001.

Nair has been practising as an advocate since 1997 attending to writ matters, civil suits and company matters in high courts, district courts and city civil courts.
