No extension for period to reply to complaint


In New India Assurance Co Ltd v Hilli Multipurpose Cold Storage Pvt Ltd, a three-judge bench of the Supreme Court held that a party cannot get more than 45 days to reply to a complaint made to a consumer forum. Further, this period cannot be extended under any circumstances.
