Simmons & Simmons announced the appointment of Aaron Patience, a corporate and commercial lawyer, to lead its Tokyo office from autumn this year.
Patience has spent the majority of his career working in the Simmons & Simmons Tokyo office and moves back from New Zealand-based law firm Kensington Swan, where he was working since 2016 as head of the Japan practice.
His expertise lies in assisting Japanese corporates investing (and divesting) in Europe, APAC and the Middle East. He also works with international corporates investing into Japan.
Patience is a fluent Japanese speaker and through his many years of living and working in Japan has a deep understanding of the nuances of Japanese business culture. “Aaron is a highly reputable and knowledgeable lawyer, with a wealth of experience within and around the region,” said Ian Wood, head of Simmons & Simmons corporate and commercial practice in Asia.
