Paul Hastings announced that Eiji Kobayashi, a corporate M&A and compliance/investigations lawyer, has joined the firm as a partner in the corporate practice in Tokyo.
Kobayashi joins from Norton Rose Fulbright, where he was a partner and head of corporate, M&A and securities for Japan. His corporate team of four is expected to join in coming weeks.

Kobayashi’s practice focuses on advising Japanese corporations on outbound investments and M&A transactions. He also handles compliance and regulatory investigations for Japanese industrial companies. He has advised on a number of transactions across industry sectors including life sciences and healthcare, energy, technology and innovation, financial institutions and transport.
