The Law Point (TLP) has promoted Abhishek Puri and Omprakash Jha to the firm’s partnership in its New Delhi and Mumbai offices, respectively.
Puri joined the firm in 2017 and is experienced in corporate and commercial disputes, and non-litigious matters including financial closure, agreements and contracts, and M&A.
Jha joined the firm in 2008 and focuses on dispute resolution before various courts and forums, where he advises clients on commercial and criminal law.
Puri has represented clients before the Supreme Court, high courts, and Competition Commission of India. He represented the Formento Group in a dispute following which mining was allowed in the Goa state after two years.
He also successfully represented Delhi Discoms before Delhi High Court, which set aside a government order directing an audit by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.
Jha regularly works with public sector undertakings and private clients for matters relating to projects and infrastructure (especially ports), energy and electricity, property, general corporate and constitutional law.
TLP also hired Shekhar Agrawal as practice head of its oil and gas division in April 2020. Agrawal previously served as the legal head and executive director in corporate affairs of Bharat Petroleum Corporation, and retired from the company in August 2019.
