A Shenzhen-based company has prevailed in a protracted legal battle with US teen-pop icon Britney Spears over use of the Chinese version of her name in the PRC.
The Beijing No.1 Intermediate Court said Spears had failed to present evidence proving she had been famous on the mainland in 2001, when Shenzhen Wanfuda Trading Company filed its application with the Chinese trademark registry to use Bulanni (布兰妮), her name spelled in Chinese characters.
