Former DH Law Associates senior partner Vivek Daswaney has joined IndusLaw as a partner in Mumbai. Daswaney moved with his team of five: Vidya Rao, Divakar Bhatia, Krupa Desai, Shriya Rao and Shreshth Bhartia.
Daswaney does general advisory work and specializes in real estate diligence and transactions and employment law. He also has substantial experience in corporate litigation and arbitration and has represented companies in arbitration proceedings overseas as well as before various courts, regulators and tribunals around India.
He merged his law firm, V Law Partners, with DH Law (now part of Link Legal India Law Services) in 2015. Prior to this he was a partner at ALMT Legal.
Explaining why he decided to move on, Daswaney told India Business Law Journal, “DH Law and Link Legal created a good merger, but that had me taking up a new role there … I just saw myself fit in better with the IndusLaw culture and blueprint for Mumbai.”
He added that IndusLaw has close to 20 lawyers in Mumbai and is focusing on expanding the office. “It puts me at the helm of things along with the other Mumbai partners – Nishant Singh and Anupam Prasad – to help establish new relations and grow in the city and beyond.”
“Vivek brings nearly 20 years of experience in legal work in Mumbai as a qualified solicitor,” said Suneeth Katarki, one of IndusLaw’s founding partners. “This will strengthen and broaden our client services capability in Mumbai.”
IndusLaw also recently added Sandeep Grover as a litigation partner in its Delhi office. It now has 17 partners and over 100 associates across its four offices in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
