The expanding intellectual property team at Zhong Lun Law Firm gained a large dose of respect with the announcement that one of its partners has joined a small national team of carefully selected IP experts.
Chen Jihong, partner at the firm, was recently announced as one of six elected lawyers in a new pool called the National Intellectual Property Experts.
The group was established to implement the “National Intellectual Property Strategy”, and the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) had carried an election process for the team of experts throughout China since March 2011.
The pool of IP talent is intended to provide a consultation and intelligence service on China’s IP development.
Earlier this year, Zhong Lun was certified by the SIPO to practise as a patent agency.
Recently, the firm’s IP team enlarged its practice area to cover patent prosecution after Lucy Wang, Michael Cheng and Zhang Siyue joined the firm as senior patent attorneys. Lucy Wang has over 22 years of experience in the patent field and once worked in the SIPO for 10 years. She can perform patent prosecution, licensing and litigation in regard to mechanical technologies.
Michael Cheng is a member of the All China Lawyers Association, All China Patent Attorneys Association, INTA and AIPPI. He can advise on cases in a range of technical fields including life science, electrochemistry, organic chemistry, pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals.
Zhang Siyue is a member of the All China Patent Attorneys Association and specialises in patent prosecution and litigation in the fields of electronics, telecommunications, computers and networks.
